    Heat wave expected to hit Tulare County Fourth of July week. Here's how hot it will be.

    An early summer heat wave is expected to hit the Central Valley next week, bringing with it record-high temperatures.

    National Weather Service officials stated that Saturday through Monday is expected to be dry, and a slow warming trend is taking place across our area. Temperatures will continue to increase, with highs expected to reach 112 degrees on Wednesday and 111 degrees on the Fourth of July.

    According to Extreme Weather Watch, one of the hottest July days recorded in Visalia history was July 18, 1925, when the Temperature Reached 115 degrees.

    According to various online weather services, metrologists don't anticipate temperatures exceeding 112 degrees Fahrenheit in the next 10 days.

    According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the year-to-date (January through May 2024) global surface temperature was the warmest such period on record, 2.38 degrees above average. There is a 50% chance that 2024 will be the warmest year on record and a 100% chance that it will rank in the top five.

    • Friday: Sunny with a high near 99 degrees and a low of 67 degrees.
    • Saturday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 101 degrees and a low of 69 degrees.
    • Sunday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 101 degrees and a low of 71 degrees.
    • Monday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 103 degrees and a low of 73 degrees.
    • Tuesday: Sunny and hot, with a high near 106 degrees and a low of 74 degrees.
