    The polls are open! Vote for the Tulare County high school athlete of the week (Sept. 3-6)

    Visalia Times-Delta/Tulare Advance-Register readers can now vote for their favorite high school athletes at the newspaper's website, visaliatimesdelta.com .

    The poll closes on Friday. There are no restrictions so vote now and vote often. Please do not email your votes.

    Here are the choices for the week of Sept. 3-6:

    • Ty Baxter, football, Monache: Baxter rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown to lead the Marauders to a 13-10 victory against Templeton.
    • Isaiah Colunga, football, Strathmore: Colunga passed for 101 yards and a touchdown and also ran for a team-high 120 yards and another three scores as the Spartans topped Avenal 41-20.
    • Karolyne Moran, volleyball, Golden West: Moran fired 15 kills and five aces to lead the Trailblazers to a 17-25, 25-17, 25-13, 25-15 win over Tulare Western.
    • Jayden Najera, football, Golden West: Najera threw for 218 yards and five touchdowns as the Trailblazers routed Dinuba 63-8.
    • Joscelyn Pena, volleyball, El Diamante: Pena distributed 10 assists to lift the Miners to a 2-0 win over Tulare Western.
    • Ethan Rodriguez, football, Mission Oak: Rodriguez had two sacks in a loss to San Luis Obispo.
    • Payton Short, volleyball, Redwood: Short had three kills, an ace, a block, 19 digs and 20 assists to direct the Rangers to an 18-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-10 win over Sanger.
    • Brayden Stevenson, football, Tulare Union: Stevenson racked up 260 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns to help Tulare Union beat El Diamante 49-15.
    • Aubrey Taylor, football, Tulare Western: Taylor had an interception and forced and recovered a fumble in a loss to Central Valley Christian.
    • Ava Yocum, volleyball, Mt. Whitney: Yocum led the Pioneers with seven kills in a 16-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-19 win against Farmersville.

    Anyone can nominate an athlete of the week for next week's poll.

    Nominations are based on information available to the Times-Delta.

    All high school varsity players from Tulare County can be on the ballot. Nominations must be received for consideration by Monday morning following that week's games.
