Detached flatbed trailer collides with man mowing lawn, killing him
BENTON, La. (KSLA) - According to Louisiana State Police, a man died less than two weeks after being hit by a detached flatbed trailer on the Fourth of July. On July 4, 2024, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop G was notified of a vehicle crash involving a truck and a man operating a lawnmower at his residence. The crash occurred on Louisiana Highway 3 north of Kingston Road and ultimately claimed the life of 66-year-old Donald Ward.

Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser, along with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF), and Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB) are launching a statewide program to fight back against litter.
