SHREVEPORT, LA - Parents and students in schools across Louisiana are on notice today about new rules for cell phone use in schools. State lawmakers passed a measure tightening the rules. Senator Beth Mizell of Franklinton pushed for passage of Senate Bill 207 which won approval unanimously in the Senate and passed 84 to 13 on the House floor.
Shreveport Man Wanted for Battery of a Pregnant Woman
Officers from the Shreveport Police Department responded to a report of a violent domestic incident in the 4300 block of Illinois Street. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who reported that her live-in boyfriend and the father of her children, Phillip Crutchfield, had battered her. The victim is seven months pregnant.

Voting has begun for the 2024 American Association of State Troopers Best-Looking Cruiser Contest. This year, Louisiana’s submission features a state police cruiser at the LARC Acadian Village in Lafayette. Sgt. Ross Brennan with LSP says the village was chosen because, “it has a really, really nice facility.
