What’s the Song of the Summer? Here Are 22 Contenders
What is it, exactly, that makes a song worthy of song-of-the-summer status? Instant earworm-iness? A thumping, club-ready beat? A screamable chorus? Some secret fourth thing?. The criteria feel so ill-defined—and, well, silly—that we’ve gone a bit rogue here at Vogue and simply compiled a list of songs we can’t stop listening to this season, whatever their genre. These include, yes, singles from Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and a lot of tracks from Brat (look, we’re only human!), but also worthy releases by The Last Dinner Party, L’Impératrice, Hovvdy, Buscabulla, Mahmood, and Peggy Gou.
Emily Ratajkowski Reminds Us Tomato Girl Dressing Was More Than a Passing Trend
Andy Warhol was the first person to experience the Dionysian thrill of a tomato girl summer. The artist had been painting cans of Campbell’s tomato-flavored soup since 1962, and in 1966 the tinned-goods firm capitalized on Warhol’s popularity with the production of a disposable dress screen-printed with its own cans. It was a fortuitous meeting of art and consumerism that precipitated the TikTok trend–that in turn precipitated various fast fashion categories–by almost 60 years.
The Best Places to Visit in Japan
The best places to visit in Japan shouldn’t be limited to Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka. While the popular triangle is certainly convenient—and memorable—for visitors, there’s so much more to the Land of the Rising Sun than these three major cities. In fact, Japan’s true beauty lies in the rural destinations that make up the majority of the country, along with secondary and tertiary metropolises that offer a less, shall we say, traveled opportunity to view the culture.
What to Talk About on a First Date
When it comes to dating, there’s plenty to discuss—bad behavior, horror stories, the list goes on and on. But there’s something a little more basic that isn’t as often discussed: what to actually say on the dates you go on. After all, first dates often come...
How I Made Peace With Hunger and Decided I’d (Probably) Never Go on Ozempic
Products are independently selected by our editors. We may earn an affiliate commission from links. The February 27, 2023 issue of New York magazine is one whose cover I can still vividly recall. “Bon Appétit,” read a bold-typed white caption superimposed over an image of a fork stabbing the hollow plastic part of a syringe. Inside the issue was features writer Matthew Schneier’s cover story on Ozempic, which featured a range of users’ least politically correct admissions about the various motives behind their use of a costly and side-effect-heavy drug that, as Schneier wrote, provided an “effortless, near-instant fix.” In Schneier’s story, an actress on Ozempic testifies to surviving on “one and a half meals a day,” while another woman confesses she’d maybe rather risk thyroid cancer than give up the injectable she now relies on to lose weight; if you live with an eating disorder like I do, or maybe even if you don’t, it’s hard not to get triggered reading these pseudonymous interviewee’s casual admittances of everything they’re willing to give up in pursuit of thinness.
Hunter Abrams Goes Behind-the-Scenes at the New York Public Library for Marc Jacobs’s Fall 2024 Ready-to-Wear Show
It was an evening full of fairy tales at the Marc Jacobs show tonight at the New York Public Library. Ball gowns fit for Disney princesses and real-life ones graced the runway of the designer’s fall 2024 show, which he said was dedicated to joy. Backstage, Hunter Abrams got a first look at all the magic before the show even began. Scroll through for the best behind-the-scenes photos from the evening here.
The Best Street Style Photos From the Spring 2025 Shows in Berlin
Just when you thought the shows were all over, a new season is starting in Berlin. The short week includes the Inaugural Fashion Council Germany/Vogue Fashion Fund and shows from Anonymous Club and GmbH. Attendees, as Vogue's Mark Holgate put it, are rocking short-shorts and raver jeans from brands like No Faith Studios, SF10G, Lueder, and more. Scroll through for the best-dressed guests from the spring 2025 shows in Berlin below.

It seems that I am not the only Berlin fashion week novice this season. So too, well kind of, are Benjamin Alexander Huseby and Serhat Isik of GmbH. I know, I know, what a crazy thing to say. GmbH has become synonymous with—kickstarted, in fact—the whole idea that Berlin is a hotbed of wildly creative fashion renegades who have plenty to say. Except for the entirety of their label’s life, Huseby and Isik opted to take GmbH to Paris for the men’s shows.

Fuck, I feel old. So, so old. I am standing amidst a heaving, ebullient, and very up-for-it crowd of people on the ramp going down into the loading bay of the Tempodrom performance center in Berlin. We are waiting to gain entry to the venue for Shayne Oliver’s Anonymous Club show. It’s safe to say I have never felt every passing year as keenly—or not so keenly, more accurately—as I do at this very living minute.
Meet the 7 Finalists of the Inaugural Fashion Council Germany/Vogue Fashion Fund
It’s not every day that an edition of Vogue launches its own fashion fund. Yet today Kerstin Weng, head of editorial content for Vogue Germany, took to the floor of the James Simon Galerie in Berlin to announce the seven inaugural finalists of this first year of the FCG/Vogue Fashion Fund. They would be: Kasia Kucharska, Lou de Betoly, Lueder, Namilia, Richert Bell, SF10G, and Sia Arnika. Congratulations to each and every one of them. They’re an impressively talented group of designers, and the winner, who receives a prize of 25,000 euros, will be announced at Vogue Germany’s Forces of Fashion event on September 23 in Munich.
How To Use Face Oils, Whatever Your Skin Type
Products are independently selected by our editors. We may earn an affiliate commission from links. The biggest misconception surrounding face oil is that they’re only suitable for people with dry skin. But in fact, the best facial oils work on all skin types. You just need to find the right facial oil for you.
Marc Jacobs Tells Us Everything About His Nails
On the final day of Pride Month, fashion designer Marc Jacobs tells me he’s done it all. But I can think of one thing he hasn’t done before—been interviewed by me. (That’s because, well, this is my first interview. But Jacobs and I have become friends through me shooting his shows for years.) This past Sunday, the designer and I sat down on the eve of his latest collection walking the runway, not to talk about the clothes or any of those fashion rumors, but to chat about the one thing everyone can’t stop talking about: His nails.
Loewe Hosted Kit Connor, Naomi Ackie and Lesley Manville at an Art-Filled Country House Retreat
As the panoply of British summertime fixtures goes into full swing – Glastonbury just wrapped, Wimbledon starts today – Jonathan Anderson slipped in a rare one-off invitation to a country house weekend in Norfolk. An enthusiastic pack of art-and-craft appreciating friends of Loewe drew up at the spectacular 18th-century Houghton Hall – past the sweeping park and the herd of white deer – to join Anderson’s introduction to Dame Magdalene Odundo and her exhibition in the house.
The Best Time To Take Pre- And Probiotics, According To An Expert

These days we understand far more about gut health—and how significant an impact it has on our body, mood, and overall wellbeing. If you're having digestion issues (or anything else) perhaps it's time you think about trying a probiotic or prebiotic.
I Want What They Have: Paul Mescal and Literally Everyone He’s Ever Been Rumored to Be Dating
Ah, Paul Mescal. How to write about the man who whips social media up into a froth of lust every time he emerges from his house in scanty shorts? The 28-year-old Irish actor has been a veritable sex symbol since his appearance in Hulu’s adaptation of the 2018 Sally Rooney novel Normal People, and if you’re a handsome, famous guy in America (or in Ireland, I guess), there’s inevitably going to be gossip about who you’re dating at any given time.
How Taraji P. Henson Spotlighted Black Designers at the BET Awards
Last night, actor Taraji P. Henson hosted the BET Awards—an annual celebration of Black culture and artistic accomplishments—for the third time. “I always have the best time hosting the BET Awards,” Henson tells Vogue of the honor. “It’s culture’s biggest night, and the energy from the audience and being surrounded by my fellow peers is always such a thrill.”
Where Does Ethel Cain End and Hayden Anhedönia Begin? Fashion Helps Draw the Line
Hayden Anhedönia is better known as Ethel Cain, but you’d be mistaken for thinking they’re one and the same. The singer, who broke through with her record Preacher’s Daughter, has long held a specific vision for her alter ego. Ethel Cain uses fashion to shine a light on Americana in its many forms, from a (Givenchy) cheerleading uniform to a Budweiser tank top. Now, as Anhedönia looks to the future of the project, she is using clothing to help define the next chapter. “I’m very interested in character studies," she says. "Working on this new project, I wanted to take a step away from the solo narrative that Preacher’s Daughter was built around and branch out into some other things.” While she keeps a tight lid on what’s in store, she does offer a hint: “Each of these characters became a costume, and then each of these costumes became a look for the show.”
Inside Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey’s Classic New England Wedding
In 2019, a mutual friend set Olivia Culpo and Christian McCaffrey up on a blind date. When she walked into a San Diego hotel lobby to meet him for the first time, he was holding a bouquet of flowers, and as they talked, Olivia was quickly charmed by Christian’s kindness and humor. She had recently written in her journal a list of the qualities she was looking for in a partner and realized he checked every box. “After that night we were inseparable,” she says.

In these uncertain times, Ottolinger’s designers Cosima Gadient and Christa Bösch figure the best strategy is to “just buckle up and stay focused.”. “We have to be sharper where we might have been looser before, be leaner and more precise,” they said during a video interview. To that end, they kept everything close to home for resort—literally and figuratively. This look book was shot in the street in front of their Berlin studio, as well as the park—a former airfield—behind.
