On the Podcast: Bows at Chanel—And Dries’s Final Bow
New York has long been called “the city that never sleeps” but these days, that seems to be Paris. From men’s fashion week to Vogue World and couture week, the shows never stop! (As Lady Gaga once said: “Blood, sweat, and leather every night. No sleep! Bus, club, another club, another club, plane, next place, no sleep, no fear.”) To talk about all this fashion madness, Chloe and Chioma were joined on today’s episode by Vogue Runway’s Nicole Phelps.
How Gottmik Upped the Fashion Ante on All Stars This Season
This season of All Stars has delivered one of the most high-fashion casts in RuPaul’s Drag Race herstory. With drag superstars like Gottmik, Plastique Tiara, and Roxxxy Andrews all competing for the top crown, it’s no surprise that season nine has already delivered a number of epic style moments on the runway—and the season ain’t over yet! Someone who has emerged as one of the fiercest queens to beat? None other than Gottmik, who has worn everything from hand-painted dresses to custom Loewe looks.
For Some Patients, Abortion Access in California Is More Complicated Than Ever
November 9, 2022 was a triumphant day for reproductive rights in California. That morning, voters approved a ballot measure known as Proposition 1 that sought to enshrine the right to abortion and contraception in the state constitution, mere months after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. “We have governors that won their reelections tonight in other states that are banning books, that are banning speech, that are banning abortion, and here we are in California moving in a completely different direction,” California governor Gavin Newsom rejoiced at the time.
A New Book Honors Maine’s Historic Architecture—Humble, Saltwater-Weathered, and Quintessentially “Maine”
“If The Maine House was our cri de coeur, this second volume represents a mission, one that aims to illustrate that it is possible, indeed essential, to rescue Maine’s quirky architectural history,” writes Kathleen Hackett in the introduction of The Maine House II. Published in 2021, The Maine...
Naomi Campbell Pairs Chanel Couture With an Unexpected Shoe
Naomi Campbell may not have uttered the quote “We don’t wake up for less than $10,000 a day,” but the supermodel is definitely doing things on her own terms. Campbell joined the likes of Kerry Washington, Greta Gerwig, Keira Knightley, and Vanessa Paradis at the Chanel fall 2024 couture show in Paris—the first show since former creative director Virginie Viard bowed out. The super turned to the Chanel couture archives for her look, wearing a silver sequined jacket and skirt set from the fall 2022 collection. Adopting a “more is more” fashion philosophy, she added black oversized sunglasses and a pair of silver dangly earrings that matched her embellished couture.
Arlo Parks Blasts Brat to Prepare for Thom Browne Couture
Arlo Parks is also having a Brat summer. The 23-year-old singer hit Paris for her first ever couture show, Thom Browne fall 2024, where she gets hyped for the day with everyone’s favorite album du jour—and some caffeine to help. “I’ll usually roll out of bed, double up on caffeine (espresso AND flat white), work out in the morning—so do some HIIT or boxing—whilst blasting Brat till my eardrums burst,” Parks tells Vogue. “Then my bestie Daniyel and I will have some breakfast, wander through the streets looking at the architecture and talking about life. Then I’ll watch him watch season one of the queer version of The Ultimatum.”

Seasonal, but not too time-of-year specific; that’s how Jonathan Simkhai approached his easy to wear, mostly monotone pre-fall collection. Softly draped bubble hems were carried over from fall, now shorter and dressier. For day, there was a white top-stitched shirt-style dress as well as a lighter, citrusy number drawn in at the waist with darts.
Zimmermann Brought Its Stylish Sydney Flair to St. Barth to Fete Its New Boutique on the Island
“We aren’t going to open a store somewhere we wouldn’t want to play too,” designer Nicky Zimmermann said with a glint in her eye, dressed in a romantic and ruffled two-piece number from her fall collection. “We weren’t going to not stay and hang out here!” Moments later, the Sydney native would jump head first into the pool at Le Toiny, the magical beach club enclave, in her full runway look and sunglasses. Proving the point that Zimmermann clothes are meant for throwing caution to the wind, diving in, and living life to the fullest.

It’s impossible, for this editor at least, to look at Lazoschmidl’s latest skivvy-focused collection and not think back to Calvin Klein and Bruce Weber’s ’90s underwear campaigns in which muscle-bound male models were made to look like Greek gods. The Lazoschmidl ideal is as mono, but tends to the other side of the spectrum, favoring mostly pale, skinny boy-men with indie vibes. Here, though, there’s no coding or hiding of the queer gaze.

It’s been seven years since Arnar Már Jónsson and Luke Stevens set off on their design adventure. Their ascent roughly coincided with fashion’s growing interest in technical gear, which their brand does very well. They want to expand on that now by, for example, using technical materials for tailored pieces. And while the designers’ approach is still focused on functionality, this spring included a citified blazer. One, in brown, was made using the reverse of a gabardine twill typically used for workwear to create what the designer described as a “canvassy, vintage-y” feeling.
Angelina Jolie Trades Her Nude Pumps for a Surprising Shoe
Angelina Jolie has her airport style down to a science. The actor has perfected her travel uniform, wearing a black coat with a black or white maxi dress, nude or black pumps (or, the occasional ballet flat for casual days), black sunglasses, and a Celine tote. But yesterday, Jolie rocked...

Under the creative direction of Peter Hawkings, Tom Ford 2.0 has so far focused its runway resources on the womenswear audience via two starry shows that incorporated menswear, yet within which it seemed slightly subsidiary. Within the Ford universe, however, menswear generates a heftier commercial gravity (around 70% of their ready-to-wear sales last year), so it made sense to give the brand’s masculine expression this first stand-alone presentation.
Luke Newton Channels His Inner ’90s Heartthrob for the Loewe Show
Luke Newton loves a tank top! Powered by black coffee, the Bridgerton star is prepping for the Loewe spring 2025 menswear show at Le Bristol in Paris, where he’s delighted to discover the brand has sent him a tank to wear under his pinstriped suit. “Luke and I have...
Leave It to Sienna Miller to Make the Boho Dress Red Carpet-Worthy
Sienna Miller will soon be starring as a lovelorn widow in Kevin Costner’s multi-part throwback western, Horizon: An American Saga. The actor spends most of the film—if the trailer is to be trusted—wandering the vast plains of Utah in ruffled saloon gowns with big woven baskets hooked over her arm. She looks forlorn, worried and sometimes confused at the terrible events that have befallen her homestead.
Are Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny Dating Again? Their Fashion Offers a Hint
Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny are rekindling their on-again-off-again romance, if these matching outfits—and canoodley photos—have anything to say about it. The two reunited ahead of Vogue World 2024 in Paris, where a couture-clad Jenner walked the runway during Bad Bunny’s live performance in the middle of the Place Vendôme. But yesterday, for the second day in a row, the model and singer have reunited off the runway, embracing bona fide couple dressing. Last night, Jenner put on her creative director hat to host the FWRD Paris Haute Couture Party at La Girafe. She opted for a black boatneck dress with a sheer crepe-chiffon skirt from Jacquemus. A historically minimal dresser, Jenner accessorized with black strappy heels, a black pouch clutch, and silver drop earrings.

Gabbriette, Diplo, Issa Rae, and More Were All Spotted at GQ’s Paris Fashion Week Soirée
After a few stellar fetes, GQ’s party has become a staple of the Paris men’s fashion week calendar. What was once a tell-all-your-friends-to-come-here type of evening has turned into one of the most celeb-clad soirées of the week. Hosted by GQ’s global editorial director, Will Welch, in collaboration with Levi’s, this season’s buzzy bash was filled with a fabulous roster of street-style swans, professional athletes, Grammy award-winning artists, and, naturally, models.
Shopping Bags, a Pop-Up Tent, and Even a Horse Bag—The New Baggu x Collina Strada Collection Has Everything You Need This Summer
We’re living through an era of peak designer/brand collaborations, and yet the level of excitement around the new Baggu collection with the New York label Collina Strada has reached a fever pitch—which has caught Collina Strada’s own Hillary Taymour off-guard. “I went to the grocery store in my neighborhood—it’s a grocery store that’s been there for 35 years—and the woman working the check-out was like ‘How do you have the Collina Strada Baggu collab?’” Taymour recalled, incredulously. “The reach has been incredible.”
“He Was the Precursor of Everything We See Now”—Nicolas Di Felice Gets Candid About His Jean Paul Gaultier Couture Collaboration.
Last week, Nicolas Di Felice, the artistic director of Courrèges, posted to Instagram Stories a video he had taken of the Paris skyline at night, his camera slowly panning across the city. Di Felice had taken the video from a vantage point relatively new to him: the roof of the Jean Paul Gaultier atelier on Rue Saint Martin in the city’s Marais neighborhood, where he has been working since late last year on his vision of haute couture for the house. It will be shown tomorrow amidst the other fall 2024 couture shows, with Di Felice joining the ever-growing roll call of designers who have guested at Gaultier for one season, including Haider Ackermann, Simone Rocha, Glenn Martens, and Olivier Rousteing.
