The Health Benefits of Rock Climbing Are Not Just Physical, They’re Mental, Too
As far as workouts go, rock climbing is about as full-body as it gets—not only does it target the arms, back, and shoulders, but it also engages the legs and the core to improve strength and flexibility. And, that’s not all: rock climbing is also an incredible workout for the mind: it takes an immense amount of concentration, focus, and spatial awareness to scale a vertical wall, after all. Not to mention, confidence and courage.
Emma Stone Taps Into Her Dark Side at the Kinds of Kindness Premiere
Bella Baxter who? Emma Stone has officially shed her Academy Award-winning character’s bushy eyebrows and voluminous pastel dresses in favor of a much darker look. Fresh off her Oscar win in March, Stone has already pivoted to promoting her next film: Kinds of Kindness, also from Poor Things director Yorgos Lanthimos. While the forthcoming collection of three interwoven short stories is still largely under wraps, British Vogue’s Radhika Seth wrote that it “makes Poor Things look like a Disney movie.”

Daphne Guinness on Finding Her Sonic Groove With Sleep
Whether in her music, her art, or her inimitable wardrobe, Daphne Guinness has always defied classification—so it’s only natural that her fourth album would, too. With Sleep, which merges disco strings, ’80s-style synths, and darkly poetic lyrics (something of a Guinness signature), she allowed herself to make a record with no specific focus—nor any expectations, for that matter. “It’s a hybrid of everything,” Guinness tells Vogue. “There’s a bit of classical, electronic, dance. I suppose it’s about one’s musical tastes.”
The Rise and Rise of Gracie Abrams
It started as a nerdy conversation about music over a long, boozy dinner. Then, before she knew it, singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams was at a piano with Taylor Swift until 5 a.m. The result is the duet “Us,” track five on Abrams’s highly anticipated sophomore album, The Secret of Us, out today.

Etienne Russo Has Produced Over 100 Shows for Dries Van Noten—These Are His Favorites
Etienne Russo has produced so many fashion shows that he has no idea exactly what number. He says: “It must be maybe 1,200 or 1,300. I used to count them, but then it became too many to count.” One number he does know for certain is how many collections he’s produced for Dries Van Noten: 129. That’s every collection Van Noten has ever presented, including tomorrow’s when Russo will have the bittersweet task of working with the designer on a milestone moment that will also mark Van Noten’s final appearance on his runway. After he has taken that last bow, Van Noten will remain with his eponymous brand as an adviser, but from a distance. His famous garden is beckoning.

Recently named creative lead at Filippa K, Anna Teurnell has channeled her vaguely preppy leanings there and gone on a rave at her namesake line. The opening look of her resort is a pair of many-strapped roomy pants worn with a shirt in the same whisper gray linen. You might say the designer backed into this inspiration; a fan of Japanese and Korean blogs “where people have quite extreme style sort of threw me back into the rave scene,” she said. A generously proportioned black sweatsuit had a lot of attitude. Teurnell has a knack for making small tweaks to silhouettes that have a big impact.

Like a good playlist, Mfpen’s latest collection evokes emotions that exist almost outside of time. Though there are hesitant dabs of light blue and pale yellow, the clothes are mostly rendered in a palette of moody grays and blacks that hardly scream “spring.” Ditto for materials like pinstripe (these are tropical weight). Because Mfpen uses only deadstock fabric, textile and color choice are somewhat limited, but this is also a choice on the part of designer Sigurd Bank. Look more closely and you’ll see that a rib-hugging rocker-meets-grandad cardigan is made of a mesh knit; you’ll spy a sliver of midriff above a pair of flat-front slim legged women’s trousers, and notice a cheerful white floral fabric used for shirting. There’s also a necklace that, when closed in front, reveals two sides of a heart broken down the middle.

A visit to Giambattista Valli’s airy, bright, and very elegant showroom, just near the Opéra Garnier, is never just about fashion, even if there is a mind-boggling array of covetable clothing, shoes, and bags. It’s about stepping into a lifestyle. The way the designer sees it, making clothes is about sharing a very specific dream of beauty, but that’s only half the equation: the other half depends on how the wearer chooses to interpret them.

Serenity and excitement coexist in By Malene Birger’s resort collection. Somehow Maja Dixdotter found a way to maintain a sense of equilibrium while enlivening things with shots of ruby red and running wild with toned down animal patterns. A leopard-printed pony hair coat and hero piece has roar factor, but the other looks mostly purr. Among them is a soft ivory knit set with a short flirty skirt. That gem-stone red color is used for a versatile slip skirt and a caftan. A charming midi dress with handmade pom-poms lining either side of the center front closure is more than pretty, it fulfills the designer’s desire “to always have something made by hand going forward.”
Here’s Everything You Need to Know About the First Trump vs. Biden Debate
We’re coming up on yet another round of presidential debates between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, and the issues that will define the race for the presidency in 2024 are evolving by the day. Biden and Trump may have faced off against each other before—remember Biden understandably losing his cool and telling Trump to “Shut up, man”?—but it’s anyone's guess how Trump’s recent felony conviction will affect his appearance. Below, find everything you need to know about the upcoming Biden vs. Trump debate.
Relationships Take Center Stage in the Museum of Arts and Design’s New Craft Show
The first time the artist Eve Biddle exhibited her work alongside her mother’s, she was a bit nervous. It was 2018, 20 years after she lost her mom, Mary Ann Unger, to breast cancer. Unger used materials like bronze, marble, and steel to make her mammoth sculptures. “Mom’s work has a loud voice,” says Biddle, whose own work crosses disciplines and is often smaller in scale. But Alexandra Schwartz, the curator of that 2018 show, knew it would be a powerful pairing despite the artists’ different styles. “She told me, ‘You can see two voices,’” Biddle recalls. One didn’t drown the other out—they harmonized.
Lady Gaga’s Glam Team Dish On Her Las Vegas Residency Beauty Looks
The most glamorous spot in Vegas right now is Lady Gaga’s Jazz & Piano residency. Channeling the days when her friend and collaborator Tony Bennett reigned supreme, the show is a decadent ode to Sin City’s most fabulous days. A showcase of her range and talent, Gaga uplifts her love for well-known jazz standards including “Fly Me To The Moon (In Other Words)” and “It Don’t Mean A Thing.” alongside soulful piano renditions of her biggest hits like “Poker Face” and “Born This Way.”
How Grace Kuhlenschmidt Became The Daily Show’s First ‘Straight Lesbian’ Correspondent
“I mean, the alumni are pretty esteemed,” Grace Kuhlenschmidt says of her alma mater, Marymount High School in Los Angeles. “It’s Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and Olivia Jade from the college admission scandal.” She pauses, before adding: “and senior lesbian correspondent Grace Kuhlenschmidt from The Daily Show.”
A Look Back at High-Fashion Swimwear on the Red Carpet
When you think of swimwear fashion, the essentials for a day at the pool or the beach (like swimsuits and a pair of flip-flops) may come to mind. But in some cases, such pieces also have a place on a red carpet. Over the years, celebrities have looked to beachy swimwear for inspiration on the step and repeat—rocking swim caps, bikini tops, and sarongs in a more formal, elevated way than expected.
Chanel Embraces Sports Fever With Its New High Jewelry Collection
Sports are a hot topic this summer: Football’s UEFA Euro Cup has all of Europe’s attention, the Paris Olympics are a mere month away, and Wimbledon is around the corner. Chanel’s new high jewelry collection “Haute Joaillerie Sport,” which was showcased this week in Monaco, wasn’t directly inspired by any of these events, but it’s certainly a timely debut.

“With all this talk about quiet luxury, we’ve forgotten what dressing up feels like,” said Co’s Stephanie Danan, on Zoom from a lively Paris street corner. With every other designer pivoting to “wardrobing,” Danan said that this season she was going against the concept. “We wanted this to be like a coup de coeur, which in French is like an emotional buy. This is about attitude and great clothes.” Her lookbook images drive home the “emotional” part, with her cast of three different models of different ages—one of them the actor Elodie Bouchez. “They’re all women who are confident, and who style things in this very ‘I own my shit kind of way’.”
A Guide to the Fashion Resort Pop-Ups and Stores This Summer
It is the goal of almost every brand not just to create clothes, but to create a lifestyle. (Or, in the words of Ralph Lauren: “I don’t design clothes. I design dreams.”) So it’s no wonder that every summer, countless fashion houses pop up in vacation spots that blend seamlessly with their aesthetic: a few weeks ago, Jacquemus announced they’d opened a store, restaurant, and taken over a beach club in St. Tropez—before quickly posting again that they would also be setting up shop in the Bahamas.
