I Can’t Believe I’m Saying It But…I’m In On Long Jorts
As Vogue’s resident jorts historian, I’ve noticed that the good ol’ denim cutoffs are undergoing a metamorphosis. Over the last couple of years, people have traded in their Daisy Dukes for baggier, longer capital-J Jorts. Leave it to the usual suspects to test-drive longer hemlines and looser...
Naomi Watts, Camila Morrone, and More Joined Chef Francis Mallman’s Hamptons Summer Barbecue
Think summer barbecue and one thinks of hot dogs, potato salad, and cold lemonade. However, none of these things were on hand last night at Dom Perignon’s summer soirée at a private waterfront residence in Water Mill. Instead, there was an endless flow of fare, all devised by Chef Francis Mallman, who was tapped by the storied Champagne house to bring his unmistakably Argentine flavors to the table. They proved irresistible to partygoers like Naomi Watts, fellow Chef Rōze Traore, and Camila Morrone, a born and bred Argentine who happily waxed poetic on the joys of chimichurri.
4 Trending Natural Hairstyles To Try This Summer
For those with curly and coily hair, summer can be the optimal moment to experiment with a range of protective hairstyles. From the viral French curls to the classic knotless method, the options are endless—and cater to every style aesthetic. It seems that we’re entering a new type of natural hair era—just ask Rihanna, who unveiled a stunning short blonde afro ahead of the launch of her new line, Fenty Hair. Clearly, coils are all the rage.

The Row-ification of fashion has been a good thing for House of Dagmar, the Stockholm-based brand that embraces a traditional kind of minimalism and is known for oversize jackets and tailoring, as well as the use of soft tones. “I’m not super into colors but I can really nerd into the different shades of white, the different shades of natural tones,” said creative director Sofia Wallenstam on a call. Based in Stockholm, the label continues to expand its footprint stateside; it’ll be in Bergdorf Goodman starting this August.
Artist Liliana Porter Finds Beauty in the Absurd
A cheeky bit of chaos has descended on the Hamptons this summer, courtesy of the artist Liliana Porter. Her new installation, called The Task, takes up the ground floor of the Dia Art Foundation’s space in Bridgehampton. In her theatrical arrangement of miniature figurines amid detritus, tchotchkes, and other found objects, Porter creates one surreal scenario after another. There is no unifying size, context, or era among the curio. Taking the whole thing in feels like watching a hundred tiny comedic plays all at once.

“When it comes to fashion, I think Japanese people have a complex about ourselves.” So said Soshi Otsuki at a showroom in Tokyo as he talked through his latest collection. The complex Otsuki speaks about has deep roots that go back to the Meiji era of the mid-1800s, when Japanese men cast off their kimonos in favor of the Western business suit in an effort to appear progressive in the public eye. “We have a strong admiration for the rest of the world, and I wanted to connect to that,” he explained.

OAMC’s spring collection was designed in-house by a studio team, following the departure of Luke Meier, the label’s creative director. Meier will continue to collaborate on special projects. The inspiration loosely referenced the work of Arte Povera’s Jannis Kounellis and his raw aesthetic, jibing with the label’s workwear-inspired...
Daisy Edgar-Jones Has Entered the It-Girl Arena
Pop culture was first introduced to Daisy Edgar-Jones through Normal People, the television adaptation of Sally Rooney’s 2018 novel, broadcast in the depths of global lockdown in 2020. She played Marianne, a bookish and sensitive outsider to Paul Mescal’s handsome and still-waters-run-deep Connell. It would take Edgar-Jones a while–and a couple of Gucci co-signs–to shake off the awkward schoolgirl image.
Sweat! How to Dress for a Heatwave
“It was a miserable, hot summer day, which was the 14th miserable, hot summer day in a row.” So speaks Carrie Bradshaw via voiceover in an episode of Sex and the City as Samantha walks down the street fanning herself desperately but to no avail. It’s simply too hot in the city, and all she’s doing is fanning more warm, muggy air in her direction.
Trains, Planes, and Automobiles: How the Editors Travelled to Paris for Vogue World
Dozens of Vogue editors descended on the City of Light for the third edition of Vogue World—and while the London team caught the Eurostar, the New York contingent checked into Air France’s Business Cabin for the overnight flight to Paris. Among the amenities? Individual “comfort” kits complete with Clarins products, a wine list curated by former Hôtel de Crillon sommelier Xavier Thuizat, and—most importantly—totally private seats that flatten into almost two-metre-long beds. Planning your own trip this summer? The Vogue editors share their travel tips and tricks below.
The Shoe of the Summer? It’s a $650 Flip-Flop
Think flip-flops are only for frolicking around in at the beach or for a post-pedicure jaunt? Think again. According to stylish celebrities, the shoe of the summer is a luxe flip-flop that’s meant to be dressed up. And get this, the trending pair will cost you a cool $650. (Yes, really.)
The Summer’s Best Indie and Art-House Horror Movies Are All Out This Month
So far, the year’s horror offerings have been a mixed bag, but that’s fine—that’s what summer is for. This July, however, we’re being treated to a bounty of excellent, and very scary, things to see. We’ve already had Maxxxine, a love letter to slick 1980s horror from Ty West, and the prequel A Quiet Place: Day One, which has been raking it in at the box office. Those movies are perfectly good Hollywood entertainments, but a new run of indie art-house horror (three movies are playing in theaters now and in the week to come) represents something special. Pick any one of the movies below—or try all three!—and indulge in that ritualistic pleasure of mid-summer: taking refuge in a cool, dark room and scaring yourself silly.
For Women In Politics, Hair Is Never Just Hair
The first woman was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1932. Sixty have served since, and a quarter of the current chamber is now female. Women make up almost 30% of the House of Representatives. And from state legislatures to school boards, the stances and ideologies of women in elected office are varied. But their hair! Their hair has more reverence for tradition than the Daughters of the American Revolution. Their hair has been frozen in aerosol since the Reagen administration.
The Last Dinner Party Has a Baroque Sound With the Style to Match
A name like The Last Dinner Party demands visual associations. On one hand, it’s almost Christlike, bringing to mind The Last Supper. On the other, it conjures a full-fledged Dionysian bacchanal, a hedonistic last hurrah. The band The Last Dinner Party incorporates both influences into their music, with a discography that includes songs like “The Feminine Urge,” “My Lady of Mercy,” and “Sinner.” But that maximalism is also something that they’ve meticulously incorporated into their style.
What Does Melania Trump’s Presence (or Lack Thereof) at the RNC Tell Us About the ‘Ideal Republican Woman’?
It seems like pretty much every prominent member of the GOP has been trotted out during this year’s Republican National Convention at one point or another, from Ohio senator and Hillbilly Elegy author J.D. Vance—whom Donald Trump announced as his running mate on Monday—to Congressman Matt Gaetz. One notable exception, though, was former first lady Melania Trump, who was conspicuously missing the first three days of the RNC.
Is Lando Norris Formula One’s Next Big Style Star?
Lando Norris may have placed third at the British Grand Prix, but when it comes to fashion, he’s at the top. The 24-year-old McLaren driver is no stranger to turning heads; in 2022, he began to appear in luxury campaigns for brands like Tumi, and these days he’s working with Richard Mille, collecting arm candy that any menswear enthusiast would be jealous of.
Here’s Everything You Need to Know About Breaking, the Olympics’ Newest Sport
The Olympics have been around in one form or another since 1896, and this year, four new sports have been added into competition, not least among them breaking. But what is breaking exactly? Well, it's a little complicated, since most people probably think of breakdancing (word to the wise: don't call it that if you want to be taken seriously by its fans) as … dance not sport. Below, find everything you need to know about the Summer Olympics' first competitive dance category.
Kraftwerk Collides With the Catwalk in “Das Model”
Later bloomerism? Arrested development? In any case, Kraftwerk’s 1980 “Das Model” video (the German version) came into my life almost 45 years after its release. Credit goes to Dylan Jones, who wrote a 688-page tome on the New Romantic movement, Sweet Dreams, that I finally braved, and completed, after being intimidated by its size for two years. This oral history with informative asides was definitely worth the wait. Among the takeaways, for me, was that many, many roads lead back to Kraftwerk, the pioneering German electronic/techno quartet (from whom Hedi Slimane favorites Franz Ferdinand took many cues). Anyhow, I turned from the page to YouTube to investigate further and was tickled by the runway references in this music video.
This TikTok Duo Are Your New Shopping Besties
Is there a hobby more fun than window-shopping? Sure, you might not be able to afford that $10,000 Chanel or Prada jacket—but you can try it on and pretend you’re a fabulous lady who lunches. That’s the fun of fashion! And on TikTok, there are two fashion enthusiasts who are bringing their followers along for the try-on fun: Meet Jasmina and David.
Kim Kardashian Embraces Italian Widow-Core
Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian are continuing their world tour, trading the Ambani wedding in India for the Andrea Bocelli concert in Italy. The sisters traveled to Tuscany for Bocelli’s 30th anniversary concert at Teatro del Silenzio. For those who don’t have an entire hemisphere of their brain dedicated to niche reality TV drama, Bocelli was, bizarrely, at the center of a spat between Kim and Kourtney on The Kardashians, after the singer performed at both of their weddings. “Who performed at my wedding? Andrea Bocelli. Who performed at Kourtney’s wedding? Andrea Bocelli. You stole my fucking wedding country and my wedding performer. Andrea Bocelli is my favorite male singer of all time, but I’m copying her Dolce Vita lifestyle? Okay,” Kim said in a confessional.
