Time to overhaul the entire education system, from curriculum to teachers. We must remove federal and state mandates, and allow local communities a greater say. Become more stringent and selective of teachers, making sure they are fully qualified, then pay them accordingly. You don’t attract the best with lax standards and low pay, although there are exceptions. School administrators, teachers, students, and parents must become involved, and I full well know that it’s not easy, but it is necessary. Face it, we are not doing the best we can for our children. There are a plethora of relatable significant topics, all poignant highlighting our failures, waiting to initiate change, has not worked out very well.
