• Phil Scott backed candidates in 2 down-ballot Democratic primaries. It didn’t work. — In Election Day text messages, the Republican governor’s campaign urged voters to cast their ballots for two candidates each challenging two groups of Democratic incumbents. ( Aug. 14, 6:12 p.m. )
• Results begin to arrive for Vermont’s most closely watched state Senate primaries — Unofficial results in the Chittenden Central district suggested the three incumbents had fended off a challenge from a former broadcast journalist in the Democratic primary. ( Aug. 13, 9:31 p.m. )
• David Zuckerman, John Rodgers win Vermont lieutenant governor primaries — Zuckerman, the current lieutenant governor, defeated Thomas Renner in the Democratic primary. Rodgers, a former Democratic state legislator, beat Gregory Thayer in the Republican race. ( Aug. 13, 8:38 p.m. )
• In Brattleboro, House Ways and Means chair wins Democratic primary — Rep. Emilie Kornheiser bested farmer Amanda Ellis-Thurber in a Tuesday vote focused on differing priorities for raising state revenue. ( Aug. 13, 8:23 p.m. )
• Esther Charlestin wins Democratic gubernatorial nod while most statewide incumbents cruise to primary victories — Charlestin is attempting to unseat Gov. Phil Scott, who did not face competition in Vermont’s Republican primary. ( Aug. 13, 7:19 p.m. )
• After quiet primary, Bernie Sanders to face Gerald Malloy and Becca Balint to face Mark Coester in general election — Neither the Democratic nor Republican primaries for Vermont’s congressional seats saw competition on Tuesday. (Aug. 13, 7 p.m.)
