No. 14 Baylor drops final scheduled Big 12 matchup against No. 13 Texas

WACO, TX ( FOX 44 ) — The final schedule women’s basketball matchup between Baylor and Texas as Big 12 opponents went to the Longhorns, as the Bears came up short on Thursday night.

The first half was a back and forth battle that saw both teams trade the lead, before a late Longhorn run saw them take a four point lead into the half.

Out of the break, the Bears again made a run to tie up the contest, but eventually, Texas took a lead for good, as Nicki Collen and company just couldn’t overcome a fourth quarter deficit.

On the offensive end, just a single Baylor player finished in double figures, with Sarah Andrews leading the team with 11 points.

With the defeat, the Bears fall to 16-4 on the season. They’ll next be in action on Saturday, February 4th when they travel to Houston to take on the Cougars at 2:00 pm.
