WACO, TX ( FOX 44 ) — For the first time in his career, Scott Drew has a win over one of his former assistants, as No. 13 Baylor took down No. 23 Texas Tech on Tuesday night.

The game was back and forth in the first half, as Baylor got out to a strong start, followed up by a response from Texas Tech, as the Red Raiders took a six point lead at one point.

Scott Drew’s team finished the half strong though, as they closed on a 9-2 run to take the lead into the break.

From there, both teams traded runs early on in the second half, before the Bears eventually pulled away in the final 10 minutes to extend their winning streak to three games.

With Texas Tech missing its starting center, fantastic freshman Yves Missi took full advantage, scoring 17 points, while RayJ Dennis (21 points) and Jayden Nunn (14 points) also finished in double figures.

With the win, Baylor moves into a tie for second place in the Big 12 standings. The Bears will next be in action on Saturday, December 10th when they travel to Lawrence to take on Kansas at 5:00 pm.
