WACO, TX ( FOX 44 ) — The 19th-ranked Baylor Softball team is still in search of its first win in 2024, as the Bears suffered a doubleheader sweep at the hands on No. 2 Tennessee on Friday night.

The series looked to be starting off with a win for the Bears, as they took an early 2-0 lead against the Lady Vols in game one with RyLee Crandall in the midst of a no-hitter.

Baylor then had Tennessee down to its final out in the top of the seventh, but pinch hitter Destiny Rodriguez hit a home run that just cleared the wall in center, as the Lady Vols completed the comeback.

From there, Tennessee cruised to a 9-1 win in six innings in game two, causing Glenn Moore and company to start off the season 0-2.

The Bears will have a chance to salvage a game in the season opening series against the Lady Vols on Saturday, February 10th, with first pitch scheduled for 2:00 pm.
