WACO, TX ( FOX 44 ) — The Baylor Baseball team took another injury hit on Monday, as the program announced that senior outfielder will miss the rest of the season with a leg injury.

Simmons suffered the injury in Friday’s series opener against Indiana, as he crashed into the outfield wall and had to be stretchered off the field. The diagnosis ended up being a fractured ankle which required surgery.

Up to that point in the season, he had been one of the standouts offensively for the Bears, hitting .353 with six RBI.

Simmons now joins a growing list of injured Bears that includes Gavin Brzozowski, Jack Little and John Youens.

There has been no announcement yet on whether or not Simmons will take a red shirt season and return to Baylor in 2025.
