WACO, TX ( FOX 44 ) — The early season struggles for Baylor Baseball continued on Wednesday, as the Bears lost in the midweek to Abilene Christian.

Mitch Thompson’s team dug an early hole in this contest, as the Wildcats took a quick 4-0 lead, as the Bears struggled to scratch across runs, leaving multiple runners in scoring position in the early innings.

Slowly but surely though, Baylor began to battle back from the sixth inning on, tying the contest up in the eighth on a Daniel Altman infield single.

The Wildcats responded one final time though, getting to Bears twice in the top of the ninth to put the game away for good.

Next up for Baylor is a weekend series against Oral Roberts, with first pitch set for Friday, March 1st at 6:30 pm in Waco.
