WACO, TX ( FOX 44 ) — The 11th-ranked Baylor Men’s Basketball team wrapped up its regular season series against Texas as Big 12 foes on Monday night with a win, thanks to another key second half surge.

The Longhorns came out red hot in the first half, making each of their first six shots and taking a 15-5 lead in the process.

The remainder of the first frame was categorized by superb shot making by both teams, as the Bears stayed within striking distance, trailing 48-40 at halftime.

The second half started off the exact same way that the first half ended, with both teams trading body blows offensively. That was until Baylor went on a 21-2 run that put the Bears up eight and put the game away for good.

For Scott Drew’s team, the key to success offensively was the red-hot shooting of senior Jalen Bridges, who made his first six threes and scored a career high 32 points. Meanwhile, three other Bears finished in double figures, with RayJ Dennis (16 points), Ja’Kobe Walter (15 points) and Josh Ojianwuna (10 points) also having big games as well.

With the win, Baylor improves to 22-8 on the season, and will wrap up its regular season on Saturday, March 9th with a trip to Lubbock to take on Texas Tech at 5:00 pm.
