KANSAS CITY, MO ( FOX 44 ) — Despite a third quarter surge, the Baylor Bears weren’t able to weather the storm as the Cyclones sent Baylor home for the second-straight year in the Big 12 tournament, 67-62 in the quarterfinals.

The first quarter saw Bella Fontleroy get off to a fast start shooting, trading buckets with Iowa States’ Addy Brown in the early going.

The Bears took a five-point deficit into the half but came out with a different defensive strategy in the third quarter. A full court press surprised the Cyclones, leading to eight turnovers forced and 13 Baylor points off of those turnovers to take a two-point lead into the fourth quarter.

All the momentum seemed to be on the Bears side when Sarah Andrews hit a 35-foot three pointer from the Philipps 66 logo to extend the Baylor lead to six with under four minutes remaining but Iowa State climbed back in it and ended the game on a 12-1 run to advance.
