WACO, Texas ( FOX 44 ) — Baylor men’s basketball is expected to be without one of their key players after head coach Scott Drew told media sophomore guard Langston Love will miss the opening weekend’s games in Memphis and is doubtful to play in the NCAA Tournament following an ankle injury sustained in February.

Love appeared most recently against Texas Tech to close the regular season, playing 22 minutes and adding nine points off the bench. After sitting out the Big 12 tournament and reaggravating the injury in practice, he is now expected not to be back for the tournament.

“If I was in Langston’s position, I wouldn’t be handling it the way he is,” senior forward Caleb Lohner said. “To see somebody that is consistently putting into the program not be able to play is tough…I feel for him because he has been through so many injuries that are just random kind of weird things and things that have kind of been persistent and won’t go away…but he has one hell of an attitude.”

Love averaged 11 points per game in 24 games for the Bears this season.
