WACO, Texas ( FOX 44 ) — The Bears are hitting their stride, quite literally, with Baylor tallying 13 hits to take down Incarnate Word, 13-7 for their fourth-straight victory.

The Cardinals started the game with about as good of a start as they could’ve asked for, with Baylor transfer Cam Caley’s base hit to lead off the game followed by a two-run home run from Dalton Beck to give Incarnate Word a 2-0 lead.

It didn’t take Baylor long to respond with Cole Posey recording his second hit of the season and first homerun of the year with a grand slam in the bottom half to take a 4-2 lead.

The Bears extended the lead to 13-2 with four-run innings in the second and fourth innings.

However, the Cardinals didn’t quit. A Caley RBI-single in the fifth inning led to five-straight runs to pull within six.

The Bears turned to the relievers to close it out, with Andrew Petrowski and Kobe Andrade combining for 2.1 innings pitched, two hits and no earned runs to get Baylor the win.

The Bears return to action on Saturday, April 6th at 2:00 p.m.
