WACO, Texas ( FOX 44 ) – The Scott Drew tenure at Baylor is set to continue, as he will remain as the Bears Head Basketball Coach, according to reports on social media.

The official X account of the Baylor Men’s Basketball team seemed to confirm it by posting a GIF of Drew giving Baylor mascot Bruiser a hug on the basketball court.

This comes following speculation that he was one of the top candidates to take over at Kentucky, after John Calipari stepped down on Tuesday.

Just over an hour after turning down interest from the University of Kentucky, Scott Drew made his return to the Ferrell Center on Thursday to rejoin his coaching staff and players at Baylor. You can see this in the video below.

Drew will now have a chance to continue quite the career in Waco that has already seen him win 446 games since taking over following the resignation of Dave Bliss in 2003.

The Kentucky job now becomes the second that Drew was at one point considered for in the Bluegrass State, after Louisville was allegedly looking at him last month after firing Kenny Payne.

Instead, he will remain at a place where he has completed one of the great turnaround jobs in the country, along creating one of the most consistent programs from a winning perspective in the last decade.

In terms of that winning, Drew will now look to make it six straight NCAA Tournament appearances with the Bears in 2024-25, backed by one of the top recruiting classes in the country.
