WACO, Texas ( FOX 44 ) — Baylor softball is super regional bound for the first time since 2017 as the Bears rallied after a 13-0 rout in game one of the Regional Championship to down the 13-seeded Ragin Cajuns, 4-3 in the winner-take-all game.

Emily Hott got off to a hot start in the second game, leading off the decisive contest with a solo home run to put Baylor up 1-0 in the top of the first.

Louisiana answered back in the bottom half with to sacrifice-flies to take their first lead. Sydney Collazos evened the score in the next frame with a solo shot of her own to tie the game at two through two innings.

The Ragin Cajuns took the lead back in the third but a fifth inning rally proved to be exactly what Baylor needed. A sacrifice fly from Shaylon Govan and Aliyah Binford RBI single gave the Bears the lead as they entered the final stretch.

Closing out games hasn’t been the Bears’ strong suit this season but RyLee Crandall stepped up when it mattered most in the biggest game of the season.

Crandall went the distance, recording her only strikeout in the bottom of the seventh and holding the Ragin’ Cajuns to no runs in the final four innings to secure the win.

Baylor now advances to the NCAA Super Regional in Gainesville against the fourth-seeded Florida Gators.
