Shaylon Govan earns unanimous first team All-American honors

WACO, TX ( FOX 44 ) — Following a second straight stellar season in Waco, Baylor infielder Shaylon Govan earned first team All-American honors on Wednesday.

The junior from Katy was once again the key cog in the Bears’ lineup in 2024, as she set Baylor single season records in terms of walks and on-base percentage, while finishing second all-time in terms of single season batting average.

She also becomes the third Bear to ever earn first team All-American status, and the first unanimous first team selection in program history.
