Man crashes car into vacant home in Waco, police pursue on foot

UPDATE

Waco PD says 28-year-old Edwin Enamorado-Castellanos was the driver arrested in Saturday evening's crash.

According to Waco police, Enamorado-Castellanos was charged with:

• Evading a vehicle
• Driving while intoxicated
• Failure to stop and identify
• Immigration detainer

For the first three charges, Enamorado-Castellanos has a total of $13,000 in cash bond. The fourth charge, the immigration detainer, was issued by the McLennan County Sheriff's Office. It has no bond listed.
Immigration detainers are commonly used by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to hold people suspected of not being U.S. citizens.

ORIGINAL STORY

A crash and foot pursuit held up traffic in Waco early Saturday evening.

Waco police said a man was driving recklessly on West Waco Drive, before heading north on North Valley Mills Drive in the wrong direction.

Then, he clipped another car before crashing into a vacant home and taking off on foot.

Waco police brought out their K-9, and after a short period of time they found the suspect near the crash and arrested him.

Officers said no one was injured.
