WACO, Texas ( FOX 44 ) — One of the best to ever don the green and gold, Robert Griffin III, returned back to his alma mater for the fourth time to give back to aspiring youth football players in the fourth RGIII Football Academy on Saturday.

The camp brought in over 500 participants, the largest attendance in the camp’s short history.

The entire Baylor coaching staff and several players helped present the camp once again at McLane Stadium, running drills and even extending offers to prospective recruits.

“These kids are not going to replace the players that are here at Baylor, but these kids could potentially take the program to new heights and keep it where we want it to be,” RGIII said. “So, it’s important to be here. I’m really thankful to Baylor and Coach Aranda for allowing me to continue to come back and get back to this community.”

Despite success on the collegiate and professional level as well as success as an ESPN Analyst, Robert Griffin III said it’s important to not forget his roots.

“Giving back to them in that way is going to have an impact on their life that you can’t even measure,” RGIII said. “Just because you make it doesn’t mean you have to forget about where you come from.”
