Media picks Baylor to finish 12th in Big 12 preseason poll

WACO, TX ( FOX 44 ) — The Bears won’t have to worry about meeting high expectations according to the media after the Big 12 Preseason Poll predicted Baylor football to finish 12th in the conference in the 2024-25 season.

The 2021 Big 12 Champions finished this past season 3-9, their worst mark since Dave Aranda’s first year at the helm in 2020 when the Bears went 2-7.

The poll comes after no Baylor football players received All-Big 12 honors when the conference released the selections last week.

On the bright side, no team since Oklahoma in 2020 after winning six-straight conference championships has won the Big 12 Championship after being picked as the preseason favorite to win the title.

Baylor will look to prove the doubters wrong beginning with the start of fall camp on Thursday, August 1st before the Bears open up the season against Tarleton State on Saturday, August 31st.
