    Tire blow out causes deadly crash on Highway 84 south of Post, DPS said

    LUBBOCK, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety on Monday said Christina Estorga, 50, of Waco, was pronounced dead after a crash on Highway 84 in Garza County on Sunday afternoon.

    EverythingLubbock.com previously reported the crash happened near U.S. Highway 84 and County Road 298 around 3:25 p.m.

    According to a DPS crash report, Estorga was driving a Honda Pilot south on the highway when the tire blew out and caused the vehicle to lose control. The car went into a side skid off the roadway and rolled into a field.

    DPS said Estorga was pronounced deceased due to her injuries from the crash. According to DPS, a 9-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. DPS said the children were not injured.

    According to the crash report, Estorga and the 13-year-old boy were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The posted speed limit for the area is 75 mph.
