WADESTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) – Wadestown is holding its annual Battelle District Fair which fair officials say is the oldest running fair in Monongalia County.

Events started on Tuesday, but there are still lots of activities to check out on Saturday, July 13.

Admission to the fair is an all-inclusive fee which includes all the rides and stage entertainment for $10 for those two years of age and older. The theme of the fair is “One Upon a Fair-y Tail.” Saturday’s events featured a bingo, a horseshoes tournament, a princess tea party, a knight’s challenge, and even a power wheels race. Their district fair’s website shows a full list of events.

“We have something for everybody, all week we’ve had different events for people in different age groups, we’ve got the entertainment, we had two nights of pageants,” Battelle District Fair Director David Cottrell said. “So, it’s just something for everybody, it’s something for the community and the western end of Monongahela County.”

Also, the fair features a Disney vacation raffle worth $4,000 and is based on a two-adult and two-children vacation. Airfare and meals are not included as part of the vacation package.
