HONOLULU (KHON2) –The Queens’ Culinary Market is held every second and fourth Thursday of the month from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Queens’ Marketplace in Waikoloa Beach Resort. Melanie Echavez, Property Marketing & Operations Associate of Alexander and Baldwin joined Wake Up 2Day with all the details.

Melanie said, “The inspiration behind the market was to create a space where locals and visitors alike can come together to enjoy locally grown produce, artisanal products, and support local businesses – all while celebrating the rich culinary ingenuity of Hawaii Island and supporting local communities.”

She continued, “We have a fantastic lineup of farmers and vendors offering locally grown produce including Big Island Smoked, Hawaiian Hotties, Kohala Food Hub, Puakalehua Homestead and so much more! Specific visitors can also look forward to their favorite vendors sharing exclusive items. For example, Akaka Falls Farm will be offering their signature jams and jellies. Misma Lani Farms will be featuring Kona coffee. Spicy Ninja will be bringing their fiery hot sauces. Kona Seafood Market will be offering fresh fish, rubs, and marinades; and Hamakua Creations will featuring fresh honey.”

Visitors can also enjoy live entertainment from local musicians like Scott Buchholz and Ryan Higgins, who performs under the stage name HIGGS. There will be live art demonstrations and sidewalk sales by Queens’ Marketplace merchants, and there will also be “talk story” sessions where guests can interact with vendors and learn about the work of local nonprofit organizations.

Plus, there’s a beer garden hosted by Waikoloa Shrimp Co. that will feature local brews, making it a perfect spot to toast the end of the day.
