Sartell man killed by falling section of crane in Waite Park

A man from Sartell was killed on Tuesday after being pinned beneath a section of crane that fell during assembly in Waite Park.

Waite Park Police Officers were called just before 11 a.m. to the incident on the 400 block of 7th Ave North, and arrived to find the Dylan Barthel, 38, pinned beneath the equipment.

Waite Park PD says that Barthel was assembling a large section of crane when it fell from an "elevated workstation."

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office determined his cause of death as "multiple blunt force injuries."
