‘Bicycling Brisket Bandit’ Snatches Beef from Indiana BBQ Joint
The owner of an Indiana restaurant claims a "Bicycling Brisket Bandit" has stolen over 30 pounds of brisket right from their smoker. As someone who has prepared and smoked brisket on multiple occasions, I can confidently say it's not for a quick dinner night. For one, you've got to make sure you take the time to trim your brisket so it cooks evenly. You also need to make sure it's well seasoned. The hardest part is monitoring your beef for several hours while it takes a bath in smokey goodness. When using a stick burner rather than a pellet grill, this becomes even more challenging as you have to manage fire and temperature on top of all those other elements. That said, if someone were to snag my brisket after all that work, I would be very peeved. Plus, brisket isn't cheap.

Avalon apartments have a new, built-in furniture-bed system to save space
MISHAWAKA — The furniture in Mishawaka's newest apartment complex expands and contracts, giving new tenants a more efficient use of space. ORI technology is a type of modular furniture that — with the touch of a button or with a smart phone — can move to form a workspace, a walk-in closet, a bedroom or a living area. This all takes place in the main rooms of 76 efficiency apartments of the 108 total units in The Avalon, at 365 W. Front St. in downtown.
Serious effort begins to seek link between 2 major trails for a regional destination
If filled, a roughly 11-mile trail gap east of Mishawaka would create a full path running all the way from Shipshewana to Niles. And that doesn’t include current efforts to extend the trail to Berrien Springs, with hopes of one day also reaching Lake Michigan and Chicago. For now, MACOG recently secured an...
Titan may not be an immortal giant, but he is powerfully cute and looking for a final home
My name is Titan, which means “defender” and it is derived from Greek mythology, where the Titans were a band of immortal and powerful giants. I don’t consider myself as a giant since I am just 2 years old, of medium size and weigh only 55 pounds…but I am powerfully cute! A special power of mine is to love people and dogs. I play with big and little friends, one of my smallest dog buddies is only 10 pounds and we get along great. I have been taught to sit and to stay down. I love playing with stuffed toys and I don’t even mind sharing them with others. I like to spend time outside, but I have enjoyed the air conditioning on these recent humid, hot days. When I run after a tennis ball, I often do some bunny hops which everyone says is “just the cutest thing.” Hearing those words make my heart “bunny hop” for joy. I will gladly flop over for a good belly rub, and I am a sucker for those bacon treats. My adoption fee has been sponsored – all you need to do is come see me at South Bend Animal Resource Center, fall in love with me and take me home.
