    WaKeeney police giving impaired people rides home after Trego County Fair

    WAKEENEY, Kan. (KSNW) — WaKeeney Police Chief Michael Romero said on Facebook that the police department is helping people who drink at the Trego County Fair get home.

    The Facebook post says the WaKeeney Police Department is extending its citizens a safe ride home.

    “I believe in everyone having a great time and not having to worry about consequences of drinking and driving. It is not worth your time, money or worse; someone’s life to drink and drive,” the Facebook post reads.

    If you have been drinking alcohol, call the WPD at 785-743-5711 to get a ride.

    “Working together we can make our community safer and better for all. Thank you in advance,” the post said.
