Commemorative Air Force bringing two WWII planes to Great Bend Airfest
What began as a hobby turned into a mission to preserve history. The United States produced nearly 300,000 aircraft leading up to and during World War II. Fifteen years after the war ended, few of the planes remained in flying condition. The Commemorative Air Force will bring its B-17 and B-25 to Great Bend Airfest on Sept. 20-22.

Barton Commission approves change order for work at health department
The big change orders via the Barton County Courthouse HVAC Renovation Project are largely finished, but smaller projects at other facilities continue. In March, the Barton County Commission approved a $182,748 remodel of the nurse's station at the Barton County Health Department. Tuesday morning, the board approved a change order to complete the work. County Administrator Matt Patzner explained the issue.
