On May 17 around 1 a.m., the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to Charles Regional Medical Center for the report of an alleged rape.

Officers arrived at the hospital and met with the juvenile victim, a 16-year-old female. The girl reported she was invited to a house on Waddell Road in Waldorf where she was allegedly raped by a man.

She did not know the suspect’s name, but she had communicated with him through Instagram.

The girl received a message on May 16 from a friend who invited her to the house on Waddell Road. She also received an Instagram message from the suspect, later identified as Ronald Levern Hogg III, 19, of Lexington Park. The message read, “Let’s hang out,” according to charging documents.

The girl was dropped off at the address by her friend.

At 8:41 p.m., the girl arrived and there were three males at the residence. She knew two of the three, but she did not know Hogg’s name at the time.

The girl was approached by Hogg, who allegedly attempted to touch her. The victim told him to stop and she ran into a room with an attached bathroom, according to charging documents. The suspect entered the room after the victim and locked the door. The suspect then allegedly told the girl to perform oral sex on him and she refused, charging documents say.

Hogg allegedly forcibly disrobed the girl, causing her to fear for her life. Hogg then allegedly proceeded to rape the girl, the documents say.

Once stopped, the girl said she heard several people laughing outside the room, followed by a commotion, which she found out was the group running out of the house.

She left the house, got picked up by a friend and was allegedly followed by three males in a small white car, which she said she saw parked at the house when she arrived earlier in the night. The car followed the girl back to her house before leaving, the documents say.

After the ordeal, she allegedly received direct messages on Instagram with remarks about what happened from some of the three men.

The girl told her mother about the incident and was transported to the hospital.

Detectives began investigating, located Hogg’s Instagram account and found an alias he uses for rap music.

After conducting a search through law enforcement databases, a match for the alias was found in an incident that occurred in Lexington Park.

At approximately 9:20 p.m. on May 17, with the assistance of St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, detectives executed a search and seizure warrant at Hogg’s residence at 21524 Wilcutt Street in Lexington Park.

Hogg was located at the address and placed under arrest.

Charging documents say that Hogg allegedly admitted to setting up a meeting with the girl at a house in Waldorf. Hogg maintained that he and the victim engaged in consensual sex and after having sex with the victim, Hogg left the house, according to police.

He denied following the victim home, the documents say.

Hogg faces charges of first- and second-degree rape, a third- and fourth-degree sex offense and false imprisonment.

On May 20, Hogg was granted private home detention, according to the Maryland Judiciary Search website.
