Two killed, one injured in rural Madison County crash
MADISON COUNTY, Ark. — Two people were killed and one was injured after a crash in rural Madison County on Aug. 2. According to a crash report from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a vehicle was traveling south on State Highway 45, exiting a left curve when it lost control and cross the centerline, striking a second vehicle.
Fayetteville man killed in single vehicle crash
SPRINGDALE, Ark. — A Fayetteville man was killed in a single vehicle crash on Aug. 2 in Washington County. According to a report from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a vehicle was traveling north on I-49 near the Don Tyson Parkway exit in Springdale when it left the roadway to the right and collided with an overpass support.

Craighead Electric CEO departs company
Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – August 2, 2024 – Craighead Electric Cooperative Chief Executive Officer Jeremiah Sloan is no longer leading the utility company. Sloan’s tenure reportedly ended Friday, July 26. The circumstances regarding Sloan’s departure have not been determined. Sloan’s photo was removed from the company’s website as of Thursday.

Cinema society to host two free movie nights in August
Arkansas Cinema Society has two more free movie nights planned in Fayetteville this month. The organizations will host a screening of Back to the Future in Bryce Davis Park at 8 p.m. on Aug. 9, followed by Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves at 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 31 at Fayetteville Public Library.
Coffee Chains Adding More Locations in Conway
Two popular coffee chains, 7 Brew Coffee and Scooter’s Coffee, are expanding their presence in Conway with new shops on East Oak Street. According to Pulse of Conway, 7 Brew Coffee is set to open at 1005 E. Oak St., situated between TGI Fridays and Verizon Wireless. Known for its signature “7 Originals,” including the Blondie, Brunette, Smooth 7, White Chocolate Mocha, Cinnamon Roll, German Chocolate and Sweet & Salty, 7 Brew also offers a variety of cold brews, teas, lemonades, fizzes, smoothies, shakes and energy drinks. Originating in Rogers, 7 Brew has grown to over 250 stands nationwide. This new spot will mark its third location in Conway, adding to its stands on Exchange Avenue and Skyline Drive.

First Community Bank promotes two at Cave City branch
First Community Bank has announced the promotion of two team members at the financial institution’s Cave City branch. Cassie Bradley (pictured above, left) has been promoted to assistant vice president, branch manager/head teller. Bradley, who joined the First Community Bank team in 2010 as a floating teller, became a full-time team member in Cave City in 2011. She was promoted to head teller in 2019 and now takes on the additional role of branch manager. Bradley, a Cave City High School graduate of 1996, brings 14 years of banking experience to her new role. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. Bradley has a 27-year-old son who is married with a one-year-old son. She also has a 22-year-old daughter.
