Excitement high for a potential new path along Route 116 corridor
SUNDERLAND — The town of Sunderland is partnering up with the town of Amherst to design a mixed-use path from Whately to Amherst. Sunderland has received a $195,090 Mass Trails grant for a feasibility study and designing of the 10-foot-wide path that will go from Whately Park and Ride off Interstate 91 along Route 116 through South Deerfield and Sunderland ending just south of Meadow Street in Amherst.

Pittsfield Housing Trust Digs into ARPA Proposals
PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The Affordable Housing Trust has stepped toward allocating its $500,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funding. Worcester: Repairs to Heard Street bridge taking longer than expected
WORCESTER — Repairs to the Heard Street bridge, closed three weeks ago after the span was heavily damaged by gushing water from a broken water main, are taking longer than expected. City officials said earlier that repairs were expected to be wrapped up this week. But plenty more work remains, with a new target date of Aug. 9, according to the city. The span, over railroad tracks, has been closed to vehicles since July 8 after an embankment and other areas were washed away. Pedestrians are allowed to cross the bridge.
