The city of Waleska has lifted a boil water advisory that was issued for parts of its service area Tuesday.

Upper Burris Road, portions of Fincher Road, Old Fincher Trail, Dry Pond Lane, Dixon Road and portions of Lower Burris Road, which had no water or low water pressure Tuesday morning, were under a boil water advisory after a water main break on Fincher Road.

The city announced the water main break a little after 8 a.m. Tuesday; it was repaired by 2:17 p.m.

The advisory was issued Tuesday afternoon and lifted a little after 5 p.m. Wednesday, the city announced on its Facebook page.

The Waleska City Council called a special meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall about the city's water system.

The mayor and city council were scheduled to talk about tanks and water supply issues, according to the meeting agenda.

This was the second time water service has been interrupted in Waleska's water system this month.

In the evening of July 4, customers in the area of Sam Nelson Road and Reinhardt College Parkway were without water due to a water tank on Byrd Mountain running low. The city issued a boil water advisory for affected customers July 5 that was lifted the next day.
