And while the waters in the Gulf of Mexico may have calmed considerably since Beryl's passing there are still some dangers that bathers at Louisiana's most popular beaches should be aware of.
Louisiana EF-2 Tornado Struck Near Shreveport Monday, 53 Miles Long, Lasting Over 90 Minutes
Shreveport, LA – A devastating 53-mile long track tornado touched down in northern Red River and Bossier Parish, Louisiana, on Monday, July 8. The National Weather Service in Shreveport confirmed the tornado, rating it an EF-2 with estimated peak winds of 115 mph. The tornado, which occurred between 2:15 PM and 3:50 PM, lasted over 90 minutes and left a path of destruction approximately 1,000 yards wide, causing two injuries and one fatality.
