    10 years ago...

    Seventeen members of the WHA Choir performed last weekend in front of close to 15,000 Moondance Jammers.

    The teenagers came onstge during Foreignenr’s performance of their 1984 hit, “I Want to Know What Love Is.”

    This is part of the British band’s charity partnership with the Grammy Foundation. As part of the initiative, Foreigner will donate $500 to the WHA Choir top use toward its music program.

    Choir director Sutton Stewart said he was contacted about the opportunity and couldn’t turn it down, Senior Emily Paul said hs was thrilled with the experience.

    25 years ago...

    The July 4 storm left Walker with considerable amount of damage to several streets.

    Major damage is on Fourth Street and Birchwood Avenue, which were undermined by run-off; and minor damage on Second Street, Michigan Avenue and Cleveland Avenue. Repairs by Anderson Bros. Construction will begin July 13 and take about two weeks.
