Carroll Community School District Board Of Education To Hold Special Meeting Adopting New Resolution For Bond Agreement Amount
The Carroll Community School District Board of Education released the agenda for the special meeting to update the resolution for the new proposed transportation facility. After the public hearing during Monday night’s meeting, the board members rejected the proposed resolution to enter into a bond agreement not to exceed $16 million and plan to lower that amount by issuing a new bond agreement. During the special meeting, board members will determine the maximum amount to bond to construct the new structure. Upon deciding that, the board will also schedule a public hearing to allow for input on the new resolution. The only other item on the agenda is considering an engagement letter with Dorsey Whitney LLP, which will serve as the project attorney. This meeting will be held in the Adams Elementary School Board Room starting at 8:15 a.m. The meeting is open to the public and can be attended in person or via Zoom. The Zoom link has been included below.

Gov. Reynolds announces FEMA’s approval of Disaster Recovery Temporary Housing Program, opens applications
(Des Moines) Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has announced that the state’s Disaster Recovery Temporary Housing Program is now open for applications following approval from FEMA. The program aims to provide temporary housing, including recreational vehicles and travel trailers, for up to six months at no cost to Iowans whose homes were severely damaged, destroyed, or deemed uninhabitable in counties under a federal disaster declaration. As of now, the eligible counties are Adair, Adams, Buena Vista, Cedar, Clay, Emmet, Jasper, Lyon, Montgomery, Obrien, Plymouth, Polk, Sioux, and Story. Additional counties may become eligible as the recovery process and damage assessments continue.

DES MOINES, Iowa — High pressure is building back in and bringing us nice weather with sunshine and lower humidity through the rest of the work week. Temperatures will likely be in the upper 70s for highs tomorrow. Highs will stay pretty consistent over the next 4-5 days. Slight rain chances will return for the weekend with a few shots for a shower or storm both Saturday and Sunday – but not a washout. Afternoon warming next week will push temperatures into the lower 80s and the chance for an afternoon isolated storm is possible. Otherwise, enjoy the sunshine and lower humidity!
