State Fire Mobilization Authorized for the Neff Road Fire
Walla Walla County – State fire assistance has been mobilized under the Washington State Fire Services Resource Mobilization Plan in support of local firefighters working to contain the Neff Road Fire located in Walla Walla County, near the town of Prescott. Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste authorized the mobilization of state firefighting resources on June 15, 2024, at 6:15 p.m. at the request of Fire Chief Jim Ruffcorn, Walla Walla North County Fire District.

Kennewick man dies in fatal traffic collision on U.S. 12
WALLA WALLA COUNTY – Daniel T. Zarate, 25, of Kennewick died following a head-on collision with another vehicle at 4:53 p.m. Thursday. Both vehicles were totaled. The Washington State Patrol said Zarate was traveling westbound on U.S. 12 at milepost 314, 19 miles west of Walla Walla, when his Isuzu box truck left the roadway, overcorrected and struck a Ford pickup head on driven by Joshua P. Hoover, 37, of Burbank.
Deadly crash blocks SR 12 near Nine Mile Road for several hours
WALLA WALLA COUNTY, Wash. - A Kennewick man is dead after a head-on crash on SR 12 west of Walla Walla on June 13. Washington State Patrol Troopers responded to the crash on US 12 at milepost 314 around 4:53 p.m. and the roadway was blocked near Nine Mile Road west of Touchet after the crash, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Chris Thorson.
