AHSAHKA - The Dworshak Elk Working Group consists of 12 members representing hunters, outfitters, landowners and sportspersons groups. The purpose of this group is to develop proposal ideas for the 2025-26 season setting. New evacuations issued as Pioneer Fire expands to nearly 19,000 acres
The Chelan County Sheriff's Office has issued a Level 1 Evacuation Advisory for the Stehekin area due to the ongoing Pioneer Fire, which is burning in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest near Lake Chelan. The advisory affects the region up Lake from Hazard Creek to the High Bridge Ranger Station. Spanning 18,731 acres and located 31 miles northwest of Chelan, the fire is currently 14% contained.
