RVR Listening Area Gets Plenty of Precipitation In Final Week of July
Wet conditions are affecting the state of Iowa, with the counties in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area seeing a good amount of precipitation in the final week of July. According to the National Weather Service, Guthrie Center has obtained 2.24 inches of rain, Jefferson saw 1.98 inches, while Perry received 0.56 inches of precipitation. For the total month of July, Guthrie Center concluded with 5.07 inches of rain when the normal monthly average is 4.32, Jefferson was at 3.37 and is normally 4.38 inches, and Perry summed up to 2.52 inches of precipitation, lower than the monthly average of 4.42.
Quiet conditions persist throughout the weekend, though expect it to be warm
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A decent summertime weekend is likely across eastern Iowa. Summerlike, but warmth should not be too overwhelming. After a start in the 60s, temperatures have been warming steadily throughout the morning as all of the TV9 viewing area has been getting in on clearer skies. This process should continue for several more hours. Dew points have bounced back a bit from a low in the 60s, but stay near or just below 70 during the day.
