(WNY News Now) – New York, NY – A startling report released today by State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli reveals that one in ten locally owned bridges in New York state is rated in poor condition. Despite increased federal and state funding, the estimated cost for the necessary repairs in 2023 stands at a staggering $29 billion, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
