Tragedy struck Vallejo again this week following a fatal traffic collision on Solano Avenue. The Vallejo Police Department has reported a crash that occurred last Friday and claimed the life of one individual. The accident involved two vehicles, a 2015 Infiniti Q50 and a 2013 Hyundai Accent, on the 1800 block of Solano Avenue, just east of Shasta Street. According to the Vallejo Police Department, the Infiniti was traveling westbound while the Hyundai attempted to cross Solano Avenue, going south on Mayo Avenue when the collision happened.

Lakeside wins first two games at state tournament
The Lakeside 9-10-year-old Little League All-Stars have won their first two games at the state tournament in Larkspur. And quite amazingly, the team has done it with four players missing from the team, including Hudson Peters and Austin and Kyle Henning, who normally account for the top three hitters in their lineup. Also missing was Colin Pipal. The boys were away on unavoidable conflicts, but all four will be back for the team’s next game on Tuesday.

Fremont's chief of police lamented on Sunday recent killings in the city, including a young girl, that have agonized the local community. On July 13, the body of a 3-year-old girl who went missing from Fremont was found dead at a recycling facility in San Jose after she was allegedly killed by her father, who reportedly died by suicide. On Saturday, a man and a woman were shot and killed in separate circumstances.
