SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Animal control took in a Beagle/Fox Hound mix after someone found her tied up to a utility pole in the summer heat. Shelter coordinator Josh Doss says, “unknown is she was just left there just for a minute and they intended to come back or if she was dumped there. Nobody was able to find an owner in the area so they brought her out to us.”

KTTS PD Tom Oakes To Retire In December.
SummitMedia Springfield, MO, Operations Manager Tom Oakes sets his retirement for the end of the year. Oakes, who also serves as PD and afternoon host for country KTTS (94.7), first joined the cluster in an interim role in 2018 when it was owned by Scripps. He spent time in Knoxville, TN, and Omaha, NE, in interim roles before returning to Springfield full-time in 2019. Oakes had previous stops in Wisconsin, Indiana and Alaska. In retirement, Oakes will return to the Minneapolis area to be closer to his family.

As local golfers tee off in their annual quest to qualify for the Korn Ferry Tour’s Price Cutter Charity Championship tournament in Springfield, one thing hasn’t changed. “A couple of years ago I was closer than I was today,” said Kickapoo and Missouri State grad John Fuchs, who finished 11 shots back of the cut line. “But not today.
