Fire destroys shop at Benton County campground for military members, first responders
Multiple fire departments respond to a fire that destroys a shop at a Benton County campground. The Warsaw Fire Protection District says crews responded to a fire alarm at Camp OBR on Golden Acres Road last night. When crews arrived, they found smoke coming from the eaves of the shop building. Though the fire appeared small at first, once the shop doors opened, the fire rapidly grew, threatening other structures.

KTTS PD Tom Oakes To Retire In December.
SummitMedia Springfield, MO, Operations Manager Tom Oakes sets his retirement for the end of the year. Oakes, who also serves as PD and afternoon host for country KTTS (94.7), first joined the cluster in an interim role in 2018 when it was owned by Scripps. He spent time in Knoxville, TN, and Omaha, NE, in interim roles before returning to Springfield full-time in 2019. Oakes had previous stops in Wisconsin, Indiana and Alaska. In retirement, Oakes will return to the Minneapolis area to be closer to his family.
