One year later, Acworth sees progress to recovery after major flood damage
A year after floods destroyed roads across New Hampshire, damage that threatened buildings in the town of Acworth has been repaired. The journey to recovery for the 850-person town, which saw 32 roads damaged in major storms two years apart, has been a long one. And it isn’t over. The town still has projects ongoing with the Federal Emergency Management Agency from 2021, and is just beginning others for repairs from the 2023 storms.

Keene roofer ordered to pay back wages to foreign workers
(MyKeeneNow)-The U.S. Department of Labor has successfully recovered $167,101 in back wages for 20 employees of a Keene-based roofing contractor. This recovery follows the discovery that the company paid incorrect wages and miscalculated overtime for foreign temporary workers hired through the federal H-2B nonimmigrant program, according to a news release.

Keene SwampBats Hold Down Westerners
The Keene SwampBats left 20 runners on base, but scored three times late in a 5-2 win at the Danbury Westerners on Saturday. In the bottom of the first, the Westerners hit a single to right with a runner on first, and as the throw went to third, shortstop Austin Hawke (Wake Forest) cut it off and threw behind the runner at first to get a huge out and help Nick Timpanelli (Charleston Southern) through the frame. The SwampBats loaded the bases with one out in the second on singles from Brett House (Mississippi State) and Andrew Wiggins (Indiana), and a walk from Hawke. The next two hitters were retired to keep the game scoreless. Danbury had a runner at third and no one out in the bottom half, but Timpanelli got a strikeout, a foulout, and a flyout to get out of it. In the next inning, Danbury had a one out infield single, a walk, and then an RBI single to take a 1-0 lead.
