Cherokee Nation Honors Three Veterans in July
TAHLEQUAH, Oklahoma ~ The Cherokee Nation honored three veterans with the Medal of Patriotism during the July meeting of the Council of the Cherokee Nation. Larry R. Richardson Sr. of Claremore; Clarence Wesley “Sonny” DeGraw of Jenks; and Michael William Smith of Sallisaw were recognized by Deputy Principal Chief Bryan Warner and Secretary of Veterans Affairs S. Joe Crittenden for their service and sacrifice to the country.

Tulsa Area United Way Accepting Applications For Social Innovation Grant
The Tulsa Area United Way is now accepting applications for a grants program to help support Oklahoma startups and existing organizations in need. The Tulsa Area United Way's Social Innovations Grant will provide $45,000 dollars to four organizations. Semi finalists also get 5,000 to help them give back to the community.
