DeFuniak Springs man arrested on drug and weapons charges after traffic stop
DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Florida — A DeFuniak Springs man was arrested on drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop for not wearing his seat belt. A deputy from the Walton County Sheriff's Office stopped the vehicle on 19th Street near Orange Avenue. Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy detected the smell of burnt marijuana emanating from inside the car. Mark Thompson, a 34-year-old resident of DeFuniak Springs, was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of an altered firearm, obstruction, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Walton County Sheriff's Office.

When you see something cute, you want to take a pic and Florida drivers have been trying to take selfies with a depressed black bear. I’m the biggest animal lover ever, so I get it. Though even I know when to draw the line. When I see any kind of wildlife, the first thought that comes to mind is that I want to snuggle it. I’m talking raccoons especially, but I can’t help but melt a little bit when I see cute squirrels, possums and even larger creatures like panthers and bears.
