One man dead in UTV crash

ROANE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Saturday, June 8, around 1:26 am, Sr/Tpr J.A. Miller received a dispatch regarding a single UTV accident with entrapment on Walker Ridge Road near Walton, WV.

Upon arrival at the scene, it was determined that the driver of the UTV, identified as 27-year-old Jacob Beckner of Charleston, had unfortunately passed away due to injuries sustained in the crash.

A 17-year-old juvenile passenger was rescued from the UTV and taken by Roane EMS to CAMC General Hospital for further treatment. Sr/Tpr Miller found that the white Polaris UTV was heading eastbound on Walker Ridge Road when it veered off the south side of the road.

The UTV then flipped sideways, striking a tree with its roof and roll cage.

The investigation into this incident is still ongoing.
